Kayla Machado (b. Kayla Becwar, 1994, Tucson, AZ) is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, performance, painting, and video. She earned her BFA in 3D & Extended Media from the University of Arizona in 2019 and has since exhibited nationally. Her work has been presented at venues including Joseph Gross Gallery in Tucson, Triangle L Sculpture Garden in Oracle , 40 West Arts in Denver, and Hilliard Gallery in Kansas City. Drawing from personal experience, Machado investigates imposed social standards surrounding gender, sexuality, and trauma. Her raw, vulnerable approach invites viewers into a space of discomfort and reflection, confronting cultural norms while encouraging dialogue. She currently lives and works in Denver, CO
